Random Dreams 2013, etc

Nov 2013

 photo Quetzal1_zps20c7dbd1.jpg

The first part of this dream was horrible, so I’ll skip to the strange part. (And I do mean s-t-r-a-n-g-e. It was like something out of the movie Avatar).

There were these fancy, graceful birds that were pretty large. They were very elegant in the way they flew, and in the wind their wings would flow like scarves. Their feathers were a peachy color. Words can’t describe how very flowing, graceful and otherworldly these birds were.

The Quetzal bird reminds me of them a little.

And now the strange part: People had no idea how these birds really traveled from place to place. Unbeknownst to the world, they traveled in disguise; inside the form of a fancy flower which was in actual fact a wormhole which led to other dimensions.

See? I told ya it was weird, so I’ll try to explain.

These ‘flowers’ looked like the petals of some fancy flower you’d find in Hawaii. It looked very tropical, and to us humans we saw nothing but stray ‘fluff’ from a flower, a lot like a dandelion only larger. These birds were inside them, flying around in flocks. It was as if another dimension was inside, hidden from everyone else. All we could see, however, was the ‘flower/fluff’ floating on the wind.

This dream was just silly. I dreamed that my brother had a daughter, and she was a silly little thing. She had straight blonde hair and wore a dress-up princess dress which was handmade. It was very feminine with these pretty rosebuds sewn on.

Her sense of humor was really silly, albeit strange. It was Halloween, and she was afraid that her dad was going to sneak inside her bedroom while she was asleep to steal all her Halloween candy.

The Halloween candy was inside a bowl set on a little kids table in her room. She wanted to catch her father if he tried sneaking off with any of her candy loot during the night, so she had a plan.

What she did was go to bed, wearing swimming goggles of all things. She knew it’d be difficult to see if her eyes were open or closed inside the mask, so should her father start stealing her candy, he’d soon find out that she was witness to his crime.

Told ya it was silly!

This dream was very short.

I dreamed about two characters in the first book I ever wrote. In it, “Emily” (the main character) was holding a newborn baby. Sitting next to her was her stepdaughter, “Amelia,” all grown up or at least around 19 years of age. Emily told Amelia that this was going to be the last baby she’ll ever have.

Emily felt very melancholy about that. Very sad. Sad and bittersweet.

After Emily shared her feelings about the baby, Amelia said nothing and just held her hand.

Also, even though she remained silent in the dream, Amelia’s personality - and even her appearance - felt a lot like Rebecca’s. (When writing the first book of the series, “Rebecca” was undoubtedly the most vocal of my characters. She was a hoot to listen to and from the very beginning she came to me as a fully formed, fleshed out character).

Two Dreams – 2012 and 2013

 photo univ_zps2f2f22c5.jpg

Until now, I never wrote these dreams down because they were so strange and difficult to explain.
Or even comprehend.

First Dream:
I was walking outside, at night, in the neighborhood my grandmother used to live in when I was little. (My house was only blocks away from hers. I practically lived at Grandma’s house on the weekends).

So it was nighttime and I was strolling through the neighborhood when suddenly I see that there’s something following me. This something feels almost impossible to even explain.

The closest way I can describe it is to imagine a very square, boxy chair of sorts. Kind of like a bunch of black Legos connected in an odd shape. It sort of looked like a throne, but with odd angles. It made no noise as it floated in the air and followed me around.

And it literally followed me around, like a shadow. I was really creeped out about it, because it felt like it had intelligence. I did my best not to show how frightened I was, but with every single step I took it continued following me around. And it really was perfectly silent and hovered only a few feet from the ground.

Second Dream:
This one is even more difficult to explain than the first. I wish I had written this dream down after I had it, but I just could not find the words to convey what was going on.

Because I had NO IDEA what was going on. Even now, I’m at a loss because - once again - the images in this dream are things I’ve never seen before and my brain literally can’t comprehend. (It’s a lot like trying to explain to a goldfish what life above the water they’re swimming in is like. To a goldfish, there is no world outside their little pond. The thought that there is one would never even enter their heads).

I’ll do my best to explain, but bear in mind that it’s taken months of thinking to unearth a description at all.
First of all, I was in outer space. There were a lot of people around. I think we were in some kind of building. No, not even a building but a ‘patio’ or observation deck. (I’ve had a dream with a deck of sorts floating in space before, and this one was either invisible or black). There wasn’t a roof over our heads or anything like that. It really was as if we were standing on some kind of platform right there in empty space, although behind me I could tell that there was a building of some sort.

All my attention, however, was focused to my right. On the right hand side from where I was standing, you could see some sort of…. grid. It was golden colored, and on this grid there were a lot of objects floating. Even while looking at it I was having trouble comprehending what I was seeing because, like I said before…. these were objects my eyes had never seen before. My brain just could not compute what I was seeing. (It would be like asking your dog to explain to you what a circle was. Impossible. A dog doesn’t have the ability to speak your language, and even if it did it’s never been taught what shapes even are).

So I was looking at this weird “grid,” or whatever it was. I tried identifying all the things floating in front of it, but couldn’t. The only thing that I could comprehend was that I ‘think’ there were planets floating in front of it…. but I had no idea if they were real planets or just images of planets; like holograms. Everything else might have been debris or… or anything. I really don’t know. I have no clue what all these objects were.

But it gets stranger, and really uncomfortable here. As I was watching everything going on to my right, I realized that if a person moves too much – or beyond a certain spot – their body starts to pitch forward. Their body, and the “floor” they’re standing on starts to go all topsy-turvy. Everything starts to move and doesn’t stand still. It was a horrible, out of control feeling. It was as if gravity was trying to pull you in. If you took even one tiny step outside a certain zone, the gravity takes over and you get pulled in.

What’s strange to me about this is that I’ve had several space dreams over the years with the same theme. Well, almost. This particular dream was a little different, but close enough. (In those other dreams, every time I’d close my eyes I could feel myself flying like the speed of light. It, too, was a very uncomfortable out of control feeling. Only, in the split second that you open your eyes again, everything around you is still and perfectly normal. Once you open your eyes, you’re in control again but once you close them…. it’s like some automatic pilot takes over. Words can’t describe how fast I’m talking about here. I’m talking something like the speed of light itself).

Parallel Worlds & Creepy Insects

 photo portals355.jpg
(Via)

These dreams I had a few weeks ago, but never bothered to write down until now.

First Dream:

I suddenly found myself in a parallel world. I wasn't sure how I arrived to be there, but I knew that it didn't matter. I was there and I had to deal with it.

I was walking outside with a lot of people. It was a sunny day, and walking to my left was a man. He was kind of a big, muscular guy with red hair.

He was my husband in that parallel world, and that kind of freaked me out but just as I felt about being there in the first place... I had no choice but to accept the facts.

--------------------------------------------------------

Second Dream:

This dream was so creepy!

I was in some bathroom, getting ready in the morning, when suddenly I see a grasshopper and a spider. (It could have been a cricket, but I think it was a grasshopper).

The grasshopper and spider both had these cartoonish faces. They could actually smile, which creeped me out like you wouldn't believe. It was like watching some children's cartoon come to life in the real world. The grasshopper freaked me out the most, because he walked on two legs just like a person. He was observing me, and kept tilting his head sideways.

Which was also very disturbing. It was like it was some kind of alien.

Now, in real life I'm always rescuing spiders when I find them in the house and in over 90% of my dreams at night I'm rescuing animals. But in this particular dream I was creeped out by the spider because it had human characteristics in that it could actually smile. I didn't want to kill it, but at the same time I didn't trust the spider or grasshopper for one minute. I knew that they both had to be killed, but I didn't want to be the one to do it.

And so I called for my father to do it instead, but before he could even get there the creepy grasshopper killed the spider himself. He killed him by sucking/slurping his brains out. I could actually hear it happening.

This is NOT a typical dream for me. It was disgusting.

I'm not sure what happened after that, but let me tell ya... that grasshopper was one of the most frightening things I've ever dreamed of in my entire life. Words can't describe how scary it was to see an insect, with human intelligence, observing you.

A Clingly Dog, Fairies and Robots?

 photo 200_zps67c27304.jpg

2-28-13

Last night my dreams were all over the place again. The bulk of it however was about my neighbors. I counted that they had something like 15 dogs! Mostly, they were large dogs but when I asked how many they had they told me 22.

I then asked them the name of one particular dog. It was a big black dog and I think it was wearing a red collar. It was following me EVERYWHERE. This dog was basically glued to my side. They told me that his name was "Patrick."

I then asked again, to make sure I heard right, and they said again that his name was "Patrick."

Now... I thought of typing up this dream in my Patrick blog but for now I thought I'd just post it here. I'm just not sure it's really Patrick-related. (I say this because, after walking one of my dogs today, I came across a few black dogs with red collars. Yesterday Abby saw one of them, and we thought it funny that she wasn't afraid of it at all. I just didn't recall that it was also a black dog with a red collar... just like in my dream last night).

The next two dreams I had about a week ago, and on the same night. I really don't know why I'm even typing them out, as I'm not bothering to type out my other dreams. But here we go.

- The jest of the first dream sounded sort of like a children's book. I never dream about stuff like this, so it was a little odd. Basically, it was about a family of fairies. The daughter fairy had an uncle, but there were other family members with her as well. They were cleaning their little house or something, and she told them that maybe they were overusing their magic wands to do housework, etc.

See? Kind of weird. I think I dreamed about this though because I'm planning on building a fairy garden at our house soon.

 photo robot300.jpg

- My second dream was all over the place, but in one part of it I was locked inside some room with a bunch of people. I had time traveled into the future, and we were all being held hostage by robots. I told the person sitting on the floor next to me that it's strange that they (as in people from the future) never considered the possibility that if robots became too intelligent they would take over.

For whatever reason, what I said made a light bulb go off in her head. She immediately got out her cell phone, made a phone call and someone on the other end (or her) did something to the robots that gained us our freedom back.

White Tiger and More

 photo 365tgr.jpg
(Via)

This dream was very short.

I was speaking to someone inside a forest, and there was a white tiger there. It kept walking up to me, wanting attention.

I tried ignoring it, but it kept following me around like some dog at it's master's heels. It didn't behave wild at all. It was actually really calm and laid back. This dream almost felt spiritual.

Last night my dream was downright creepy. I didn't like it.

I was with my mother, and we were in a foreign country. It was tropical, but at the time we were both underneath a shelter/building of bamboo. It was one large "room" (no doors) made into two sections. (Like something a person would make if they went camping). I think we were in someplace like Costa Rica, although I'm not sure. (I think that came to mind only because in real life my aunt said she's thinking of moving there). The people present in this dream could speak something like Spanish, although when talking to us they spoke English. I didn't know any of these people at all, but they seemed friendly.

So my mother and I were outside, under this 'shelter,' but it was pretty disturbing. Disturbing because in one of these rooms there were coffins. I was lying dead inside one of them, yet at the same time I was in that second room with my mother and all those people, and they are acknowledged me. I was telling them that they had better not leave the casket open. I didn't want people staring at me. (Which does echo my real life. For the most part, I prefer being invisible).

It was just w-e-i-r-d because in one room I'm lying dead inside a casket and in the other I'm conversing with everyone and alive... although at the same time I'm acknowledging that I am in fact dead and the reason we were all conversing together was because we were there for my funeral. (There was also something about a pillow, but I can't remember now. It became a blur, and then I started having a boring dream that isn't even worth typing up. I've forgotten half of it already anyway).

But I'd never had a dream like that before. I didn't like it at all. It was too creepy. I'm sure it must have been symbolic of burying a part of myself and moving on. Honestly, I don't care to analyze it much. It was an uncomfortable dream, although I have had worse. Usually my dreams are about rescuing animals in distress. I dream about spirits and space a lot, too, although it's been a while since I had a really interesting one.

-----------------------------------------------------------

February 2013

Black Cobras

This was also creepy, and a little similar to a dream I had years ago. In this one my mother and I were crossing a little section of road, by foot and also by car. The trouble was that on this road there was this gigantic nest of black cobras. They were upright, in attack mode and with their fangs showing, only they were all frozen. Completely frozen still. (Not frozen, temperature-wise, but motion wise).

We knew we didn't have a choice, so we ran (and drove) right through them in order to get to the other side. Luckily, they never woke up and each time we crossed the road there and back safely.

Still, this is not a dream I would ever want to repeat.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Two More Dreams

- All I recall is yet another dream where I'm protecting an animal. In this one the kitchen door was slightly ajar as Mom and I peered outside. We were watching a UFO. The entire time I was worried about my dog, Abigail, slipping outside. I didn't want any of our animals outside while there was a flippin' UFO flying around.

 photo ufo.gif

This UFO was pulsating a whole host of colors: red, green, blue, yellow, orange.

- In this next dream, more animals were present. (Not surprising). There was this old and abandoned house. Two huge crocodiles were living underneath the house, and these two men (brothers I think) helped them over the fence to freedom. Next, I saw this really tall peacock. It was as tall as a person. And then the last thing I saw was some dog playing in the yard with a dinosaur toy.

Note: A few days later I saw something similar on tv. They showed a puppy playing in the yard with a dinosaur stuffed animal. The only difference was that in my dream the dog was an adult and something like a golden retriever.

Bears & Mice, Oh My!

 photo angrybearstanding.jpg

These animal dreams are becoming exhausting. Truly. Why can't I just start having happy, carefree dreams about fairies and gnomes?

Actually, no. Forget the gnomes. Years ago I had a dream about them and it was very creepy indeed. I'll have to type it up one day. Maybe after I write it down, it won't feel so uncomfortable.

But first I need to type up my dream from two nights ago. Naturally, it's divided into different parts. The first section was frightening, the second was dark and evil and not at all like dreams I usually have, and the last part of my dream was absolute panic and heartbreak.

First part: Bears. Not cuddly Winnie-the-Pooh either, but the wildest most savage bears you can imagine. It was strange for me to have a dream about a creature that was so frightening, because in normal everyday life I don't see bears as they appeared in this particular dream.

We all know that bears are wild animals not to be underestimated, yet on television documentaries we so often see them raiding trash bins and occasionally having safe interaction with humans... for the most part anyway. Even these types of stories can have unhappy endings for the human. After all, these bears are creatures of the wild and not domesticated.

But in this dream I was walking around some city, and it was nighttime. During the day, there were no bears around but come nightfall every street corner was populated with at least one bear, which was chained to a building. They kind of reminded me of circus bears, and they were all standing tall on their hind quarters. They were really huge bears.

The chains that were around their stomachs were incredibly thick chains attached to a very large belt. I think the belt was red, and the bears were standing on a red block of some kind.

And these bears were CONSTANTLY growling and showing their HUGE fangs. If those chains broke, there's no doubt that any person within sight was going to be viciously mauled to death. I can't stress enough how untamed and savage they were. The best way I can think of to describe them is as killing machines.

Absolutely. Killing Machines. That sums it up pretty damn well.

Second part: This section of my dream is a little fuzzy. I just remember walking down some hallways and hearing footsteps somewhere behind me. It was a distinct shuffling, like someone in house slippers. In the dream, I was trying to ignore it but the entire time my intuition was telling me that these footsteps I was hearing somewhere around me were indeed very real and belonging to some evil entity. A ghost or something. I wasn't quite sure, but I wasn't about to dwell on it either.

But then I entered some room and there was an old lady there. She had a work-worn face. She was painting whatever room she was in, and literally looming over her was some evil entity. I didn't really see it, but when standing it's head touched the ceiling. The lady knew there was no way out, and she was calmly talking to it. All I recalled hearing was her telling it that she knew it was going to take possession of her and that her actions from that point on wouldn't be her own.

SO NOT MY NORMAL KIND OF DREAM! I was very glad that this dream was so short and not too detailed. I'm not into that kind of stuff at all.

Third part: Typical, typical, typical. More animals to rescue. I am so tired of these animal-in-distress dreams. As I said earlier, they're exhausting and this particular one was uncomfortable.

I was looking out the window and saw a big dog with a duck in it's mouth. I felt so sorry for this duck, and hoped like mad that it was already dead and that the dog did a quick kill.

Well, it didn't because this perfectly still duck trapped between this dog's teeth suddenly BLINKED IT'S EYES.

I was in sheer panic. My family was in the room with me, and they didn't seem to realize how awful this all was. They were all laid back and not taking my reaction very seriously, and then outside the window I saw three baby bunnies. They weren't harmed yet, but I was petrified that either they were going to be or that there were some that had already been harmed earlier.

I run outside, and once I reach that side of the yard I am completely FREAKING OUT and kind of pacing. I mean, I am l-o-s-i-n-g it. I was standing out there, all alone, not knowing what to do and HATING that the choice - life or death - was up to me. At least for that second, that poor duck was still alive. I wanted to rescue it from this dog, but I knew very well that if I rescued the duck it's suffering would prolong. I didn't want to be the cause of it's lingering suffering before eventual death, but at the same time I wasn't a murderer. I just didn't have it in me to kill, and inside all my panic I was trying to come up with the answer of whether or not killing the duck would be a gift... because it would end it's present suffering and panic... but I just couldn't get past the fact that I couldn't kill another living, innocent soul. I just couldn't do it, but boy was I CONSTANTLY panicking about whether I even had it in me to do the right thing.

But I HAD NO IDEA what the right thing was. What I wanted was for the dog to end that poor duck's suffering right then and there. At least then the duck was okay and the life/death decision wasn't going to be up to me.

I was so panicked in this dream that it literally woke me up.

LAST NIGHT'S DREAM:

 photo mice280.jpg

What a surprise, more animals.

My family and I just arrived at a pretty large beach house, and for some reason my grandparents were with me. (Both have passed on). In this dream, my grandfather had this really strange "hobby"/interest. Every time he was at a new beach house, he would set a trap for any mice. For whatever reason, he thought trapping mice in a new place was fun. His interest in it was sort of like a kid's, and I really didn't understand it. I tried to go along with it though, because he was really gung-ho about it. All I did was tell him that if a mouse enters one of his traps/cages, to be sure to let it go and not kill it.

Of course, then the dream turned into us being in this beach house which was simply OVERRUN with mice. There were bed bugs and a couple spiders, too, but the mice were EVERYWHERE. I absolutely hated it, and was trying really hard not to freak out and to just see it through. At one point I think I looked over at my grandmother and told her that what I instructed Grandpa earlier, about saving any mouse's life, wasn't a factor anymore. I hated admitting this, but I simply didn't see any other choice. There were just too many mice to contend with. And when I say too many, I'm talking hundreds upon hundreds. This was an infestation, and it just wasn't healthy or sane to allow it to continue.

Then fastforward to this afternoon:
My brother is getting married in May - at the beach, mind you - and I do not want to go to this wedding for so many reasons, but that's beside the point. So today my mother tells me that my brother was looking up online beach houses for us to rent and stay in for when we go to this wedding of his.

I just find it a strange coincidence that last night I dreamed about a large beach house and then today my brother is talking to my mother about a beach house to rent that has 7 bedrooms.

If we end up staying at a beach house, and it's overrun by mice, I will never again not take my dreams seriously.
