Sunrise > Doomsday

Well the world didn't end. Photobucket

Surprising to me, I did have a "2012" dream last night. It was a little strange, but... consider the person having the dream.

In this one my mother was present. It was nighttime and we were both outside, looking up at the sky. I saw an object above and pointed towards it, hoping it wasn't something like a UFO.... considering that this was the infamous December 21st date that people have been talking about for years.

Photobucket

As it came closer we realized it wasn't anything all too mysterious, although it was pretty unusual. I say unusual because the object we saw flying in the sky was a man on some kind of flying contraption. It was a bike with a hang glider strung above it. The man was using the pedals, and the glider above was being steered by the wind. (It reminded me of The Wright Brothers 1st plane).

Also, the sky in this dream was pretty. A little bit of blue, some stars, and then the man inside his strange flying machine was like a black silhouette against it all.

Wanted: Interesting Dreams

Photobucket
I'm afraid my nocturnal ramblings have been fairly lackluster lately. So much so that I'm only going to list the most recent one's.

First, I dreamed that the planet was basically overthrown by aliens. They looked human, but had psychic powers. What was strange was that the majority of them were female. They wore long white robes. In one part of the dream we were all standing by some dock near the water. No one trusted these "aliens," but we were afraid of standing up to them because they were far more advanced than us. They weren't attacking anyone, but we knew they would if we retaliated against them.

I also vaguely remember some guru type man. He was very old and known to everyone as being wise and able to see the future. He told everyone that the Earth was going to be going through some changes, but at the same time people were going to be okay in the bigger picture. He saw this as a good thing. A positive change or cleansing. His language was kind of strange. I can't remember the exact phrasing, but he said something like "The Earth would laugh happy."

Yeah, I know. Strange. Dreams are like that, especially when I'm having them.

This was a nice surprise. I've been a neglectful fan girl of GB this past year, yet the other night I had the most random dream. I dreamed Gerry was on Ellen. As far as I know he's only been on her show once, several years ago.

The next day I decided to look up any appearances for him on tv, and lo and behold there he is listed on a lot of talk shows, including Ellen.

See? If it's something or someone I'm interested in - like Disney or a particular funny Scotsman - I'm a little psychic. It's a pretty useless and silly thing to have, but I'll take it.

The other night one of my dreams was seeing a rabbit. It reminded me of The Velveteen Rabbit, like in the children's book. It was tall and brown, and with a white tummy I think.

For the entire dream I saw it in profile view. All it did was twitch both it's ears in different directions.

Yeah, whatever.

Approaching Storm
(8-23-12)

My dream last night was a little unsettling. My mother and I were in her bathroom, talking after she washed her hair or was getting ready to call it a night. In the middle of just talking about random, daily things she told me she could no longer ignore that there was a spirit in the room that wished to speak to her. Wanting them to leave so that she could get things back to normal, she listened to them.

I don't know what it was they told her, but when they were done I noticed a scene out of some windows. It looked really strange because I was seeing this scene in something like tunnel vision. What I saw was pretty frightening, and it really made me angry that this was going on outside our window while this spirit selfishly took up our time handing over to Mom his message.

By the way, I think his name was Francis.

So I was looking at this scene, and I was frightened because it really looked like the end of the world. In this sort of tunnel vision, I saw an approaching storm. The sky was filled with billowing clouds of red and pink, and they were encroaching closer to us. Suddenly, off in that distance is a red bolt of lightning which struck down to the earth in a straight line. In front of it I saw a white horse trying to beat the storm. It was racing like hell in front of it, and then it zoomed past us. There might have been a small team of horses behind it, but I'm not certain of that.

By this time, Mom is worried and says we need to run to the house NOW to gather up the animals. We call the girls to come inside this screened back door, which they do. Abby was the last one in, and for a second I came close to panicking that she wouldn't come in. Thankfully, I knew that if I remained calm so would she and then she'd come in as directed.

The next thing I remember is seeing this strange wooden door. It was white and the paint was off in a lot of places. Little splinters of wood were poking off it. It was a 2-way folded door, but each side was comprised of several layers of door. (It's hard to describe). It's also a low door, which you have to get on your knees in order to enter the small cupboard/pantry behind it. I'm frantically opening all these doors because my flash drive with all the stories I've written are on there.

After I enter that little closet, the next thing I'm aware of is that the storm must have never reached us because everyone and everything was okay.

Creation of The Universe?
(8-20-12)

Photobucket

It's no mystery that I've had some very strange dreams in the past, but I believe the one I had last night is at the tippy-top of the Ladder O' Weirdom. Dr. Seuss would have been proud. The first part of this dream was a little fuzzy, which is a shame, but here's what I recall.

Picture a huge, neverending staircase encased in complete darkness... in OUTER SPACE. It's an iron, industrial-like staircase where the steps are covered in a black plastic tarp. These stairs seem to go on for what seems like forever. I'm walking up them, and I'm with a few people. Three or 4 men, and I think one of them is wearing a brown plaid shirt. I can't really see their faces because it's dark and I really am a heck of a lot more interested in viewing my surroundings.

So we're talking and walking up these stairs, and in doing so I'm looking behind me and up. I'm in awe of what I'm seeing; stars and lots of color, because in the distance there's a nebula or something. The colors were gorgeous!

Here's the Dr. Seuss moment.... These men were talking to me about what it was I was seeing all around me. Where we were. It turned out these people were either creating or re-creating THE UNIVERSE. That's right, HUMAN BEINGS creating the flippin' Universe. I wasn't sure how I felt about that. I was quite conflicted because the impossible was happening here. I felt like Alice must have felt like when she fell down the rabbit hole.

Now, in my daily life I am not a religious person b/c religion is man-made; hence why there are sooo many religions out there/why there are flaws/why a lot of these religions use fear as a tool to control their followers b/c let's face it... man is imperfect and has that ego which gets in the way. I do believe in a Creator, but I really don't think that Creator has anything to do with our daily lives. My guess is that "God" (or whatever you want to call it) created the Universe and that Earth was a gift where we could do with it what we will; hence why it's so filled with joy and evil at the same time. (Again, it's just a theory).

So even though in real life I'm not a religious person, I do believe The Universe was created by a Higher Being we cannot even begin to wrap our tiny minds around and actually understand. So naturally, even in my dream, I felt the same way yet here I was witnessing - and with my own eyes - a creation of a Universe by human beings and not a supreme being. I was upset, yet fascinated at the same time. All I knew was that what I was witnessing was a fact. It was etched in stone and I had no choice but to accept what man was now capable of doing.

The whole thing was so surreal. It would have been a lot more believable had I been inside some darkened warehouse that was made to LOOK like the Universe. Something like the Space Mountain ride at Walt Disney World, ya know? Lol! But... that wasn't the case here. It was surreal, and felt fake almost, yet there was no arguing that it was in fact very real.

The earlier part of the dream was pretty fuzzy. I was with only one other person and we were on those same stairs, but at a higher level. I didn't see stars or anything here, until I 'launched' myself up and ahead. I really can't explain it. I just remember closing my eyes, and then forcing myself to... fly?... leap ahead? All I know is that when I did this, I could literally feel myself being hurled really fast into space. I didn't like the feeling at all. You could feel it in the pit of your stomach and your entire body. I only did it twice, and I did it only because I don't think I had a choice. I wanted to high-tail it out of there, but I forced myself to go through with it and not think about how terrifying a feeling it was. I didn't want to acknowledge it. I felt safer by not acknowledging it. Also, I think that while I was 'flying' I had a picture in my mind's eye of an astronaut in their white spacesuit. I think I had that image inside my head just because I figured this is what astronaut's felt like when they were out in deep space.

So there ya have it. My strangest dream to date, which I'm very glad was just a dream!

"A dragon, I swear I saw a dragon!"

 photo 280drgn.jpg
(Via)

Dreaming about animals is not exactly a strange thing for me. I can safely say that in well over 90% of my dreams, the main cast of characters are animals. I'm always trying to rescue them, too.

This morning, however, I dreamed of a fantasy-type animal and I wasn't rescuing them. Instead, they were observing me. Here's the dream:

I was inside this HUGE bathroom, and it was all white and clean with very tall ceilings. I was taking a bath when I looked up and saw this skylight/window high up near the ceiling. I was instantly taken aback because there was something perched up there and looking through the glass. Naturally, my first instinct was it had to be a bird but then I looked at it full head-on.

It was a dragon. A very small baby dragon. It practically had it's face plastered against the glass, looking in. It was there for about 3 or 4 seconds before it flew off.

While I was a little fascinated, I was much more in disbelief because come on.... dragons are fantasy and not real creatures walking amongst us.

So I try to brush it off I guess. Ignore it, but then a second dragon does the same thing. This one is larger and a little older. Medium-sized, I'd say. It, too, just looks at me through the glass before flying off.

I'm now thinking I can't ignore what I've just seen. I don't care what anyone says, but dragons are real. They're a fact.

 photo 290drgn.jpg

Thinking I'm not going to see anything else, I then see a third creature fly to the window and peer in. This time I am really starting to panic and full on freak out because I don't even know what it is I'm seeing exactly. It was something too large to be perched up on that window, and was a form of dragon I'd never heard of even in mythology. The only way I could describe it was as a combination of a dog and dragon both. It was the size of a really big golden retriever, but it's skin was orange with these strange black stripes in weird patterns. The orange skin looked like wet paint composed of glitter. It was orange, and it sparkled.

And as I said, I'm really beginning to freak out at this point. This thing was looking down at me through this window, and suddenly the window latch unlatches and the window opens a little bit. Terrified, I hope this creature will fly away like the others did. Instead, this thing jumps through the window! It falls all that distance, and then lands on the side of the tub.

Just while I was telling myself this thing had better not be vicious and attack, it started wagging it's tail. It's behavior was very much like a dog. It looked like part dragon and part dog, but I was so pleased it's personality matched the latter. It really was the strange skin and black stripes that made it look so strange. I kind of think the face even looked like a regular dog, although the teeth might have been more prominent and it's ears folded back really weird. They were really small ears that sort of curled back. I think it's tail was like a normal dog's tail though.

After that, one of my parents dropped a piece of mail for me inside a little mail slot on the bathroom door.

And that was it. The dream ended. What do you suppose THAT was about?!

Just FYI - I've dreamed about a dragon only once before. Just click HERE and scroll down to the Feb 26, 2011 entry.

I'm really not into dragons and fantasy and mythological creatures, but I find it odd that I've dreamed about them twice now.

Back in Time

Photobucket
I think my weird dreams have returned. One did last night anyway.

It was Christmastime, and I was at my grandmother's house. I was younger in this dream; a teenager. The house Grandma lived in wasn't anything grand, but I loved it. It was a small white house in some neighborhood in Chappell Hill. The house was overcrowded since everyone was gathered there for Christmas.
Photobucket
There was one particular family there I didn't know... (in all honesty, this part feels like two different dreams bleeding together and just combining into one)... and they had no manners. The youngest child in the family was around 4 years old. In front of this boy's family, I got all preachy. I stooped down to the boy's height, and stressed to him how important it is that he not behave in the same fashion as his family. I told him he had to be kind to animals and people, always.

Blah, Blah, Blah... I really went on and on and was quite repetitive because this boy was so young and I feared what I was saying was going to go through one ear and out the other.

A lot like my voice does in reality when speaking to my pets. Photobucket
But I knew that if he didn't hear it from me, he wasn't ever going to hear it from anyone. Finally, I got through to him because he liked it when I said that he comported himself as being much smarter and more mature than his older siblings and even his parents. Probably too deep for a 3 or 4 year old kid, but hey... it's a nonsensical dream. Photobucket

After playing preacher to the little boy, my parents and I are walking through the house to leave. I was speaking to one of my grandmother's friends, Debbie. (Debbie really does exist. I remember her from my childhood. For some reason I always giggled while in her presence. laugh To this day I have no idea why that was. It's a mystery).

This next part gets a little fuzzy because we were talking about some gray cat that my grandmother had. I was telling Debbie that I can't imagine Grandma keeping the cat, as I've never seen her as a cat person. (In reality, Grandma doesn't have any pets). Debbie then reminded me that Grandma had already found a few really nice homes for the cat, only she hadn't chosen between them yet.

At this point we pass by a little library/office room of sorts. It's on my right hand side, as I'm walking towards the front door. There were lots of white shelves filled with encyclopedias and books. There were rows and rows of these shelves, just like you'd see in a real library, only they were about waist height. They weren't very tidy either. To my left is a mahogany mirror on the wall strung with garland at the top.

Finally, I'm out the door with my parents. It's nighttime and I am just so giddy! Normally, I would have been acting all calm and normal... and I almost did just that... but then I reminded myself of exactly WHERE I was and that things aren't the same anymore.

And this is the part where it gets a little strange. I hadn't told anyone, and I wasn't planning to because they'd think I was as nutty as a granola bar, but the truth was that I had traveled back in time, only to some parallel universe! I'm not even sure I had any siblings there.

So here I was walking down the street... in a flippin' parallel universe but back in time as well... with my parents. It's nighttime at Christmas, and I was just so thrilled to be young again. I was so happy that as I walked ahead of my parents, I threw caution to the wind and just spun in circles with my arms open wide and my face looking up at the sky.

Photobucket
It was impossible containing my excitement, and quite frankly I thought it was incredibly stupid to pretend those feelings of giddiness and joy and relief weren't there. I told my parents that I was young. That I was only a 16 year old.

After that, I woke up but I would imagine that if that dream had continued, my parents would have thought I had been sampling the special holiday punch.

I'm pretty certain that this dream exemplifies just how much age and myself are mortal enemies... hence why I loathe birthdays so much. If I could have one-on-one combat with Aging, I'm 100% certain that I'd be victorious in kicking her @ss. That's how much I dislike her.

Home Sweet Home

Photobucket
I’m not sure when I had this dream, but it’s one of my favorites so I figured I should copy/paste it from my other blog.

In this dream I was visiting the castle ruins of where I lived in a past life. It was a beautiful, sunny day and I was SO HAPPY to see the place and SO SHOCKED that I had forgotten about it.

And when I say I was visiting ruins, I mean RUINS. The 'walls' that were left were no more than a few inches tall and were a light grey color. They were almost blue they were such a light grey.

And even though everything was gone, I instantly recognized everything about the place and where everything used to be. The grass was very green, and there were concrete slabs/squares buried in the ground for tourists to walk on as this was a very hilly, HIGH area. I can't begin to describe how filled with joy I was in this dream, and how flabbergasted I was that I had forgotten all about that life.

Really, in this dream I felt so ridiculous that I had forgotten everything. Forgetting that place, and that life, felt as silly and insane as forgetting your own mother! It was just all so inconceivable to me that I could ever forget all of it. In this dream I was happy beyond words. We’re talking GIDDY with joy.
