Random Dreams 2013, etc

Nov 2013

The first part of this dream was horrible, so I’ll skip to the strange part. (And I do mean s-t-r-a-n-g-e. It was like something out of the movie Avatar).

There were these fancy, graceful birds that were pretty large. They were very elegant in the way they flew, and in the wind their wings would flow like scarves. Their feathers were a peachy color. Words can’t describe how very flowing, graceful and otherworldly these birds were.

The Quetzal bird reminds me of them a little.

And now the strange part: People had no idea how these birds really traveled from place to place. Unbeknownst to the world, they traveled in disguise; inside the form of a fancy flower which was in actual fact a wormhole which led to other dimensions.

See? I told ya it was weird, so I’ll try to explain.

These ‘flowers’ looked like the petals of some fancy flower you’d find in Hawaii. It looked very tropical, and to us humans we saw nothing but stray ‘fluff’ from a flower, a lot like a dandelion only larger. These birds were inside them, flying around in flocks. It was as if another dimension was inside, hidden from everyone else. All we could see, however, was the ‘flower/fluff’ floating on the wind.

This dream was just silly. I dreamed that my brother had a daughter, and she was a silly little thing. She had straight blonde hair and wore a dress-up princess dress which was handmade. It was very feminine with these pretty rosebuds sewn on.

Her sense of humor was really silly, albeit strange. It was Halloween, and she was afraid that her dad was going to sneak inside her bedroom while she was asleep to steal all her Halloween candy.

The Halloween candy was inside a bowl set on a little kids table in her room. She wanted to catch her father if he tried sneaking off with any of her candy loot during the night, so she had a plan.

What she did was go to bed, wearing swimming goggles of all things. She knew it’d be difficult to see if her eyes were open or closed inside the mask, so should her father start stealing her candy, he’d soon find out that she was witness to his crime.

Told ya it was silly!

This dream was very short.

I dreamed about two characters in the first book I ever wrote. In it, “Emily” (the main character) was holding a newborn baby. Sitting next to her was her stepdaughter, “Amelia,” all grown up or at least around 19 years of age. Emily told Amelia that this was going to be the last baby she’ll ever have.

Emily felt very melancholy about that. Very sad. Sad and bittersweet.

After Emily shared her feelings about the baby, Amelia said nothing and just held her hand.

Also, even though she remained silent in the dream, Amelia’s personality - and even her appearance - felt a lot like Rebecca’s. (When writing the first book of the series, “Rebecca” was undoubtedly the most vocal of my characters. She was a hoot to listen to and from the very beginning she came to me as a fully formed, fleshed out character).

Two Dreams – 2012 and 2013

 photo univ_zps2f2f22c5.jpg

Until now, I never wrote these dreams down because they were so strange and difficult to explain.
Or even comprehend.

First Dream:
I was walking outside, at night, in the neighborhood my grandmother used to live in when I was little. (My house was only blocks away from hers. I practically lived at Grandma’s house on the weekends).

So it was nighttime and I was strolling through the neighborhood when suddenly I see that there’s something following me. This something feels almost impossible to even explain.

The closest way I can describe it is to imagine a very square, boxy chair of sorts. Kind of like a bunch of black Legos connected in an odd shape. It sort of looked like a throne, but with odd angles. It made no noise as it floated in the air and followed me around.

And it literally followed me around, like a shadow. I was really creeped out about it, because it felt like it had intelligence. I did my best not to show how frightened I was, but with every single step I took it continued following me around. And it really was perfectly silent and hovered only a few feet from the ground.

Second Dream:
This one is even more difficult to explain than the first. I wish I had written this dream down after I had it, but I just could not find the words to convey what was going on.

Because I had NO IDEA what was going on. Even now, I’m at a loss because - once again - the images in this dream are things I’ve never seen before and my brain literally can’t comprehend. (It’s a lot like trying to explain to a goldfish what life above the water they’re swimming in is like. To a goldfish, there is no world outside their little pond. The thought that there is one would never even enter their heads).

I’ll do my best to explain, but bear in mind that it’s taken months of thinking to unearth a description at all.
First of all, I was in outer space. There were a lot of people around. I think we were in some kind of building. No, not even a building but a ‘patio’ or observation deck. (I’ve had a dream with a deck of sorts floating in space before, and this one was either invisible or black). There wasn’t a roof over our heads or anything like that. It really was as if we were standing on some kind of platform right there in empty space, although behind me I could tell that there was a building of some sort.

All my attention, however, was focused to my right. On the right hand side from where I was standing, you could see some sort of…. grid. It was golden colored, and on this grid there were a lot of objects floating. Even while looking at it I was having trouble comprehending what I was seeing because, like I said before…. these were objects my eyes had never seen before. My brain just could not compute what I was seeing. (It would be like asking your dog to explain to you what a circle was. Impossible. A dog doesn’t have the ability to speak your language, and even if it did it’s never been taught what shapes even are).

So I was looking at this weird “grid,” or whatever it was. I tried identifying all the things floating in front of it, but couldn’t. The only thing that I could comprehend was that I ‘think’ there were planets floating in front of it…. but I had no idea if they were real planets or just images of planets; like holograms. Everything else might have been debris or… or anything. I really don’t know. I have no clue what all these objects were.

But it gets stranger, and really uncomfortable here. As I was watching everything going on to my right, I realized that if a person moves too much – or beyond a certain spot – their body starts to pitch forward. Their body, and the “floor” they’re standing on starts to go all topsy-turvy. Everything starts to move and doesn’t stand still. It was a horrible, out of control feeling. It was as if gravity was trying to pull you in. If you took even one tiny step outside a certain zone, the gravity takes over and you get pulled in.

What’s strange to me about this is that I’ve had several space dreams over the years with the same theme. Well, almost. This particular dream was a little different, but close enough. (In those other dreams, every time I’d close my eyes I could feel myself flying like the speed of light. It, too, was a very uncomfortable out of control feeling. Only, in the split second that you open your eyes again, everything around you is still and perfectly normal. Once you open your eyes, you’re in control again but once you close them…. it’s like some automatic pilot takes over. Words can’t describe how fast I’m talking about here. I’m talking something like the speed of light itself).

Parallel Worlds & Creepy Insects

These dreams I had a few weeks ago, but never bothered to write down until now.

First Dream:

I suddenly found myself in a parallel world. I wasn't sure how I arrived to be there, but I knew that it didn't matter. I was there and I had to deal with it.

I was walking outside with a lot of people. It was a sunny day, and walking to my left was a man. He was kind of a big, muscular guy with red hair.

He was my husband in that parallel world, and that kind of freaked me out but just as I felt about being there in the first place... I had no choice but to accept the facts.

Second Dream:

This dream was so creepy!

I was in some bathroom, getting ready in the morning, when suddenly I see a grasshopper and a spider. (It could have been a cricket, but I think it was a grasshopper).

The grasshopper and spider both had these cartoonish faces. They could actually smile, which creeped me out like you wouldn't believe. It was like watching some children's cartoon come to life in the real world. The grasshopper freaked me out the most, because he walked on two legs just like a person. He was observing me, and kept tilting his head sideways.

Which was also very disturbing. It was like it was some kind of alien.

Now, in real life I'm always rescuing spiders when I find them in the house and in over 90% of my dreams at night I'm rescuing animals. But in this particular dream I was creeped out by the spider because it had human characteristics in that it could actually smile. I didn't want to kill it, but at the same time I didn't trust the spider or grasshopper for one minute. I knew that they both had to be killed, but I didn't want to be the one to do it.

And so I called for my father to do it instead, but before he could even get there the creepy grasshopper killed the spider himself. He killed him by sucking/slurping his brains out. I could actually hear it happening.

This is NOT a typical dream for me. It was disgusting.

I'm not sure what happened after that, but let me tell ya... that grasshopper was one of the most frightening things I've ever dreamed of in my entire life. Words can't describe how scary it was to see an insect, with human intelligence, observing you.
